Monokel Eyewear is a unisex sunglass label based in Stockholm, Sweden. They design and produce handcrafted sunglasses in premium plant based acetate with lenses from Carl Zeiss Vision. Thier brand philosophy stems from the mix of simplicity, functionalism and perfection in details in Nordic mid-centure modernism, paired with an endless curiosity for the human mind and its need for creative expression.

For Spring/Summer ’16, Monokel Eyewear have launched a new story concept entitled ‘HOME’, showcasing a lookbook that has been entirely shot inside the house where the Monokel Eyewear offices began and still stand today.
The Monokel Eyewear ‘home’ is situated at Tegelviksgatan 14 in the southern part of Stockholm within an old bus garage from the 1970s. The space has become a creative mecca and is also home to many other young artists and small businesses. Using the Brutalist building that will unfortunately be demolished next year as a backdrop, the lookbook features people that have a connection to Monokel Eyewear or the location.
”Our main theme for the season is to investigate how the human brain is affected by our physical surroundings. We will explore that in our ”Dopamine Spaces” series. This is our own contribution to that. This building is our home and it has shaped Monokel Eyewear in so many ways. We have our friends here, and a lot of the people we collaborate with are based here too. I even lived here for a while when we worked around the clock to get Monokel Eyewear started a few years ago.” – Robert Sandgen, Co-Founder
